It is certainly a good idea for inspections of child
protection to focus on multi-agency working and the role, not only of the local
authority, but health, education, the police and probation services as well.
But I very much doubt that Ofsted is the right body to carry this out. To date it has shown little talent for advancing the cause of quality
in child protection work and a horrible tendency to inspect bureaucracy in.
