The proposed new regulator for social work –
apparently to be known as ‘Social Work England’ – must be accountable to
Parliament, not ministers.
Community Care reports that the government
is proposing to make it accountable to ministers. But the government said that
it would be “independent” and “independent” means accountable to Parliament.
